Making a linen strop

I want to make a linen strop. Have some Bakers linen for this. Would like advice on how to make this. It seems thick enough, and I thought I might fold it once or twice, but not sure because the outside where folded would be a little thicker than the middle, and not sure how this would affect the razor.
