Not a bad article, but there are much better ones out there. The Green Pete videos on youtube are good, as well as th numerous tutorials on the various knife sites.

A tip about saw blades, very large (24" and up) circular saw blades, cross cut blades, industrial bandsaw blades are generally ok, but all should be heat treated. Modern circular saw blades, mitre saw blades and the like are not good steel for knives. One step that makes life easier, finish the front of the scales before gluing and shaping, you will not have to deal with scratching your blade all up that way.
