Magnetic Brush Holders

Have you ever tried to find a good stand for a Chubby #3 ? You don't have much of a selection and they get expensive. I got to thinking how I can hang it up and not spend a whole lot. I went to the local lumber yard and got 2 fender washers at $ 0.43 ea. Ordered 2, 1 1/8" flat neo magnets, I had some 2 part epoxy. I glued the fender washers under the shelf where I keep some of my shave stuff and put a screw in each hole while it dried over night. I glued a magnet on the top of my brushes and let them dry overnight. Next day, I took the screws out of the washers and stuck the brushes to the washers. $002.JPG$004.JPG$005.JPG$003.JPG

Total cost was about $7.00 and I have room for more washers and brushes. And yes, ya'll can use my idea.

I've done exactly the same thing. And gee I thought I was a genius. Not so I'm afraid. LOL
Good to see someone thinks alike. My Omega brush is recessed on the bottom so the magnet sits flush.

Can you post a pic please ? I would like to see that .

That IS genius . Looking forward to seeing one of those massive brush collections you occasionally see, all hanging by magnets :biggrin1:.

Just had a thought. If my ex wife could see how tidy I am she may not have wanted a divorce. But then I prefer putting my money into RAD than her. Does that mean I'm a sicko. That's a rhetorical question. LOL.

Really interested in doing this as well. Couple of questions for those who have already done this:

1. What magnets make the most sense in terms of rust? I read somewhere that neo magnets could rust?

2. Have folks experimented around with drilling a small magnet into the bottom of the brush?

3. Is the washer the best thing to mount on the bottom of a shelf?

Here's a picture of my set up for reference. Right now I use small hooks to hold my brushes, but always looking for a new way to improve!

Nice idea but will it ruin your brushes? What if you want to remove the washers does it damage the brush handle? Just asking because I am extremely "particular" not the word my wife would use. Haha
