What's new

Made a Brush today

I wanted to test my hands to see if I had the strength to hold some wood-turning tools. Guess I can. But only for a little time. Not hours.
I made this Shave brush out of Spalted Tamarind.
About 15 coats of CA. And set a basic 22mm badger knot in it with a loft of 48mm.
The epoxy is still setting up so maybe I will give it a try tomorrow.
Just what I needed. Another brush. LOL.

Nicely done! I put one together many years ago. Wasn't any turning involved in my effort. I found a beautiful butterscotch handle in an antique store, drilled out the old knot and set a really nice Badger in there.

That brush is still going strong today. Yours will last you for many, many years!

I had a different shape in mind. But about half way through i started seeing a chest piece too. So i went for it. Sometimes the wood tells you what it wants to be.
