What's new

:mad3:DE shaving hasn't saved me any money

because there are so many different cool DE razors out there. :tongue_sm

I've already bought quite a few and have spent some money. Darn my Aquisition Disorder!:biggrin1:

Is there a cure for it?

The only advice that I can give you is look for "razor grade" shavers. They are cheaper. Try not to exceed 5 razors at the same time, re-sell what you don't use. If you like one, look for the same model in a better condition.

That's the only way to cut the costs!

The only cure is to buy every type, style, and model of each De razor. Same goes for soaps, creams, straight razors, etc. Then and only then will you be cured

I could claim that shaving with DE/SE/injector razors continues to save me money on actual shaving. I'm pretty much good for life with my stock of blades right now, and my stock of soaps and creams won't need to be replenished for years. I may never need to buy another brush, either.

It may be playing games with words, but the extra money has been spent on a separate thing, my new hobby of collecting razors.

Awww, who am I kidding?

I don't see it as acquisition disorder. That has a negative connotation about it. I see it as rescuing relics of a forgotten past that exemplified ingenuity, craftsmanship and quality. :thumbup1:

I made the switch to DE's to "save money" on blades. Pfff! I have spent 10x more on DE's than with my cartridge shavers.

It's not about saving money but getting a good ROI for your purchase, which in this case is good shaving and, more importantly, satisfation. If you spend more but are happy, what's the issue?
