Lubricating my new Super Speed

I just acquired a very nice 1971 black handled Gillette Super Speed from ebay. (It was less than $16.00 including shipping!!!) They said it was cleaned ultrasonically and I was wondering if I should lubricate it somehow. I was just going to drip a little grapeseed oil into the worm gear in the center. It opens and closes just fine so should I even bother? Thanks!!!

Oiling is not necessary, though some folks do oil razors. Seems to me that oiling would just contribute to gunk buildup.

I thought so...Ok, cool... This razor is in great shape and I'm looking forward to using it...Sorry no pics but if you've seen one you've seen em all...Right?

I had my first shave with the Super Speed. It was great!!! Very gentle and smooth shave. Way smoother and gentler than my Merkur Chrome long handle. It's not as heavy but I like the size of the head. It's slimmer and gets those whiskers under the nose better. I loaded up my brush with some Col. Conks Bay Rum soap and a squeeze of C.O. Bigelow shave cream and made a wicked lather. I love the Super Speed and I couldn't be more pleased overall.
