love my fatboy

Hi everyone,

Just had my 2nd shave with my fatboy and goshh i love it.
its set to 4 and my face is smooth as a babys butt. Its nothing compared to my 1st razor a feather stainless. The feather is nice and all but doesnt cut it like this fatboy does.

I did 3 passes with, accross and againts with a feather blade and really i am smooth all over, didnt have to buff anyplace like the feather.

been replated in Nickel, my only beef with it is that the numbers havent been painted but thats nothing really. For my 2nd shave with it i must say this was maybe the closest shave ive ever had. I shaved last night and now this morning my face is still smooth as a babys butt.

That's a good looking fatboy. I'll admit that a lot of my razor collection is feeling neglected since I broke down and bought a 1959 fatboy. Even the slim and super adjustable aren't as good even though they are so similar to the FB.

I have my dad's 1959 Fatboy. Over the years, if I could find a deal on one, I would have to buy it. I have eight now and always have one in my rotation. I also love Slims and Super Adjustables.

Xilbus, i Brought up the number issue in one of my threads, and got some great responses on what to do with it, one even had a youtube video that looked plenty easy to do

+1. Here's the link to the simple way of repainting #'s: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JdjXSrRr-I0
The only issue is that the paint is opaque in color. I've had success using the extra fine tip Sharpie oil based paint. The trick is using the finest tip and gently blotting and spreading the paint on the #'s. It's a shinier paint.

Couldnt take it anymore just won a FATBOY!!! Cant wait to give it a go!! :shaving:

Congrats, im sure you will love it as well.
Now does the 1958 shave the same as the 60-61 thats the question. ill have to get a 58 to compare.

That nickel plate looks great! I started with a Fatboy myself and will be trying it with a Feather for the first time tonight. I also have a flaretip SS & it feels just a touch milder than the Fatboy set on 3. I'd dialed it up to 4, but I'll be backing it down to 3 again for the first go with the Feather blade. I love this razor and how easy it is to disassemble for cleaning!
