Love is a many-splendored thing

Ok, so a package arrives in the mail today and I recognize the sender. I've been waiting for this package for only a few days, only for my entire life.

I opened it and I swear that as I peeled through the box, bubble wrap, and tube that held my treasure the song Love is a Many-splendored Thing, started to build in the background and crescendoed when I held this beauty in my hand and caressed it across my cheek.

Thanks, Jim! She's a beauty, and I'm in love!

Jim also included some Truefitt & Hill samples of shaving cream and ASB. Mmm...maybe I'll palm lather this afternoon.

I am delighted you like it.

Now please send me all of your other brushes. Monogamy, you know.

I couldn't wait so I snuck in a hand-lather after SWMBO fell asleep last night.

I couldn't wait to wake up and have my morning shave. I used my Feather SS with a Red Personna blade. I decided to use the Mennen Palmolive shave cream that was PIFd to me by rm71 and had a great shave.

The brush was soft on my face but had decent backbone and I felt a slight skritchiness at times. I know this is an old brush but I could swear it still had some badger funk to it. I had hand-washed it with hand soap and then my hand-lather last night so it is clean, just badgery smelling.

It was a joy to use this brush. It is very functional and a thing of beauty too.

That's a great brush. Is it just me,or does that "Pure" knot look more like what qualifies for "Best" in today's Simpson brushes? The Vintage X1L I have is very similar. Also note the belt and suspenders Lampblacke Simpson underneath where the sticker went.

I think that it would qualify more as a best just based on my experience with pure and best.

I'm not familiar with the term belt and suspenders and I'm assuming that lampblacke is used to describe the color of the lettering.

It is a sweet brush and I feel very lucky to have it!:thumbup::thumbup:
