Louisville Members - AOS store is now in the St Matthews Mall

I was walking through the Mall in St Matthews today, and discovered that an Art of Shaving Store has opened as of mid July. It is across from the JC Penny's entrance. I spoke to the manager, and he was very nice and did not try to push anything on me. He gave me a box of samples, and I told him I know where to send my kids and family for presents for me in the future.

It sounds like you had a great experience at a new AOS store. They recently opened near my house, and they did try to push products on me. They didnt offer any samples either, but I wasnt expecting that. I did purchase the starter kit for 25 bucks, and I think it was worth it. There was a manager and a young girl working there. We talked about wetshaving and they kept telling me that I need to switch from my cheap boar brushes to a badger brush. They also said I should only use balms, not the alcohol based splashes I normally use. I know they were doing their job and all that, but I was hoping for a better experience. It is a cool store though. Maybe one day I will buy a badger brush from them, who knows?

I don't think I gave the manager much of a chance. I told him I had enough hardware and was only interested in the software. He had me smell their shampoo, which I didn't know they had, and told him that I now know where to send my kids when its time for them to get me a present. All in all, it was a very pleasant experience, and I do plan on going back at some time.
