Los Angeles Area Brick and Mortar stores

Hey there guys I was just wondering if any of you know any small or hidden stores around the LA area, been wanting to try Arko and I know there has to be a Turkish store or some place that sells it hahaha or maybe I'm hoping for too much. I have ordered stuff online twice but I also like visiting new areas and getting the product there and there. I just picked up some KMF creams today and would like to pick up more products in the future. So If any of you gents know of any stores liek this please let me know and thanks.

Antonio's 742 Pine Ave., downtown Long Beach.
A family owned barber supply company that carries a selection of shaving creams, blades and brushes.
This is where you can find Gallon size jugs of name brand aftershave at low prices.

What part of town are you in?
I just went to check out Diamond Beauty in Studio City, as mentioned on one of the threads posted above (http://www.diamondbeauty.com/, as it turns out it's right next to my local Trader Joe's that I'm at almost every week...). Not a gigantic selection, prices seemed kindof all over the place. Most of what they had was Anthony, Baxter and Caswell Massey, those were a little overpriced. They did have a decent selection of AS splashes (several Pinaud's, Osage etc) at good prices, and also most of the Proraso line. Worth a look-see if you're nearby

I also went to look at Capitol Drugs in Sherman Oaks (mentioned in the same thread); really no shaving supplies to speak of, the guy said they don't really carry those products anymore

Whole foods and other grocery stores and pharmacy stores have em..I don't know of any mom n pop stores with stuff I couldn't find online or in store

There is not much choice in retail locations. If you are in the valley or can get there to meet me, I'll get you an Arko stick to try :biggrin1:

Have you checked out the store linked below?

O U Beauty in Glendale, CA.

www.oubeauty.com/spa.php

By far, the most complete brick and mortar shave shop that I've been to in Los Angeles. I can't believe I've never read about this shop before on Badger and Blade.

You will find the full line of Trufitt & Hill, Musgo Real, Proraso, Caswell & Massey, eShave, Jack Black, Pinuad Clubman, etc. When I say full line, I mean EVERY product, and in every scent, that these brands make. For now, they don't carry TOBS or Trumper's, but they are considering stocking them up in the future.

You'll also find brushes and accessories by Kent and Edwin Jagger, plus a selection of safety razors and straights. I even recall seeing a couple of strops hanging up for sale.

Matt, the shop's product guy, is a true gent and is dedicated to the art of classic men's grooming. Also, he is generous with samples!

Needless to say, I'll be back soon for sure.

It's a little out of the way, but...

West Coast Shaving in Chino Hills on the 71 between the 60 and the 91. They have limited hours (call first) but they are very helpful and have EVERYTHING!

Forgot...there's also an AoS at the Glendale Galleria and (if I remember correctly) in Santa Monica.

In downtown LA next to the Bradbury Building is Ross Cutlery (OJ Simpson used to buy his cutlery there). In addition to all sorts of knifes, they also stock; refurbished vintage Gillette razors, new Merkur razors, shaving soaps, blades, brushes, etc.

Also, I understand that B&B vendor Bullgoose Shaving has a storefront in the Torrance area. You might contact them for additional details.

I actually stopped into Ross Cutlery yesterday while I was in downtown for a meeting... that place is wild, all sorts of weaponry in there...
They did have a decent stock of shave gear, including some really nice looking straights. Most of the hardware seemed a little pricey but I could definitely see myself doing some damage in there

Pheonix,
My shop is in Southern California just north of LA and I carry Arko, as well as many other shaving products. My shop is in Thousand Oaks.

There's a new-ish men's shop in Silverlake on the corner of Rowena and West Silverlake Dr called Brightwell. He sells Caswell Massey, Jack Black, Imperial, and Lucky Tiger. He says he's going to start carrying DE's and straights in the near future. Not an overwhelming selection selection but I thinks it's worth offering some support. OU has a weird Botox scene and TAOS is... TAOS.
