Going through the Truefitt & Hill sampler, I really liked the Grafton cologne. SWMBO liked it, too. But I'm a bit of a cheapskate. T&H describes it as a fougere fragrance. I'm sure that would fit a variety of cologne products. Do any of you know of an affordable alternative that would be similar to the Grafton scent?

I've found that you are better off buying what you like, rather than buying a lot of "almost as good as". I agree it is pricey, so just use it on the week-end while with SWMBO.
Fougere would certainly fit many scents, but I do not know of anything that smells a lot like Grafton. Great scent.

Friends, I think you are correct: I would do well to go ahead and get Grafton! Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
For me, Tsar by Van Cleef and Arpels shares few characteristics with Grafton. I don't know if you would save the money though.

Ivan, checking Amazon.com shows that the Tsar by Van Cleef and Arpels is priced significantly lower than T&H Grafton. I need to check it out.
Make sure to buy a sample first, if possible. Maybe you won't like it, so...
TOBS Mr. Taylor? The grafton and Mr. TAYLOR shaving creamd smells almost the same so maybe the colognes do too?
I have a bottle of Tsar. I really like it and have worn it on and off since around 1991. It always gets compliments but doesn't overpower. My wife likes when I wear it because it reminds her of our courting days back in university. I've never tried Grafton, so I can't help you with a comparison, unfortunately.
