Hello gents, as some of you know I have recently reentered the world of better clothing. I've begun looking instead of cheap and comfy (jeans and band tees) to classic and quality (suits, quality dress shirts, sweaters, ties...ext). Well the last thing to upgrade has been my shoes. While I've traded in my signature combat boots and the occasional sneakers for a classic pair of ropers, I have not yet upgraded my dress wear from the crappy JC penney special Florsheim B&B helped my find. Dont get me wrong they served their purpose marvelously, I needed a quick cheap pair of black shoes to wear until I could get some money saved up. Now to the point, it's time to upgrade. I've been debating between the Johnston Murphy Suffolk black dress boot, the Carter chukka boot by Cole Hann and the Allen Edmond Park ave. Five to six days out of the week I wear either a black or dark gray suit in a slim cut and always a cuff, what are your opinions on boots with these suits? I have always preferred the fit of boots, but I dont see dress boots that often. Do any of you have experience with the boots I've mentioned? Are there some boots I should check out? My only requirement being that they are well constructed, durable, black and able to be polished (I would prefer to stay away from suede at this time). Should I stick with the standard oxford at this time? Thanks for the help.
P.S. I'm thinking about a pair of Cole Hann Calhoun for my new brown pair, any thoughts or suggestions?
P.S.S. I'm also looking at the Hutchins Cap toe by Johnson Murphy
