my brain goes "thonk"
I was wondering if anyone could guide me to a worthy inexpensive silver tip badger brush? I have what I think is a Parker, but I can't tell because the logo has worn off.

Yes, here you go : http://www.whippeddog.com/products/view/silvertip-badger and believe me you can't go wrong with any of Larry's Silver tips. If you face lather, just set the loft between 45 and 48 mm.
Second on the WD. You can't do any better for the price.
Inexpensive is relative. Cheaper silvertip brushes a probably poorer in value. Value is a function of price relative to quality. How much quality are you willing to let go of...or how much are you willing to pay?
I just received my Whipped Dog and think its great for the relatively low price of 30 dollars, which inlcudes shipping.
I have a whipped dog as well.
