Looking for kamisori

Hi there, I'm new to the forum but have been shaving with straights for a few years now. Been looking for a kamisori but not sure what sources are reliable. They seem closer to knives than western razors that I'm not sure what to look for in a used one.

Any pointers in the right direction would be awesome!

Hi,
Kamisori are made from fogewelding a piece of high carbon steel to a piece of soft iron.
The grind is convex on both sides with two different radii, the fron (no stamps side) has smaller radius, the back (stamped side) has larger radius.
The way those are honed introduces more honewear on the front and very little on the back. When buy kamisori, you need to make sure the front does not have excess hone wear. You can find kamisoris on ebay and may be the classifieds. Depending on the maker and condition prices vary a lot.
If you decide to go for a used one on ebay/classifieds, if you want pm me I'll take a look and advise you of the condition.

Are there any new ones available? My browser's all wacky right now and can't search for some reason.

Yes there is. The best advice is to take Mainaman up on his offer for advice. He knows what he speaks of.

Here are some that I know of. I have been thinking of letting some of mine go. PM me if you are interested. I don't know if that was legal or not sorry if it's not.

I have been counting the money in my piggy bank for one of their Kanayama strops.
Would anyone know: From the sales verbiage "The company name is Kanoyama, but the strop is stamped Kanayama" ~is this a real Kanayama?
Looks like they are located in Hawaii, so shipping time/cost should be reasonable...I would think ?
How has your transactions been with them...I really like their offerings. (anyone)
TIA
