List your shaving quirks

After wet shaving for over a year, I realized the other day that I have to wet my razor a certain way before I shave.

First I make sure the water is hot, then I run the water over the top tilted from one end, then flip it and do the same thing from the other end. Then I run water through the inside of the razor though the open space just above the endcaps, first running it through one end, then flipping the razor and doing the other end.

If I don't do this, there's no way that I can shave.

Anyone else have a quirk that they'd like to list?

Everything I do at shave time is somehow quirky.

. . .but what comes to mind,

- I strop at the end of the shave incase I'm in a hurry next time, but I usually end up stroping before the next shave anyway.

- And when I thread the needle to sow my nose on I always use my left hand even though I'm right handed.

- I admire my shave den, supplies & razors way too much.

- And I often confuse my right & left ears - I'm afraid I'll sow them back wrong and mess up my stereo receptors. Yea, sounds stupid. I'll probably just mess up my coordination and make wrong turns oftener.

I see no one else has replied yet - they all had to go off and shave and list there idioms. They'll be postind soon I suspect. I had to think a minute too. I like to cut cheese in between shave strokes cause the fats loob up the blade and make it slick. Stay away from the Cabbot Habanero Cheddar.

I just realized that I usually shave with one foot up on the counter...uhh, that sounds weirder than it actually is...ah too hard to explain. :frown:

not really a quirk but a pet peeve of mine - I don't like being interupted by the wife while i'm shaving. she likes to get huggy/feely on me which isn't good unless I want to filet my face.

uh, oh. post #666

+1 only thing is the foot is on the toilet bowl (closed)

What exactly are you shaving?

:lol::lol::lol:

I do the foot thing sometime too.
I wonder why we do it? A combination of comfort? support? traction?

I guess a shaving quirk I find I am doing consistantly is I apply La Toja A/S on Saturdays & Booster's "June Clover" A/S on Sundays exclusively.

My quirk is that I always relather the area that I just shaved. It comes from my earlier days of using brush & soap - my lathers weren't the best and often started to thin out after about a minute, so I was always running the brush around my face to wake up the weakening mixture.

Anyway, I can make much better lather these days, but that old habit still sticks with me.
