liquid alum deodorant

I've been using my alum bar as a deodorant for a couple of weeks, and it works really well.

I'm very happy I tried, since it's way cheaper than the supermarket stuff at $4 a pop.

Anyways.
Today by accident, I dropped the alum bar, and it broke in pieces.
I was thinking, Maybe by dissolving it into water, put the water in a spray container, I can make a spray on deodorant like the liquid thai?

has anyone tried this?

That's a great theory, but I don't know how you'd get those pieces to dissolve in water. I've used the liquid deodorant before, but I've found that it tends to clog the tube leading up to the spray port. Its much better to just pick up another stone at a health food store or market. If the pieces are big enough save them, if their really small put them in an old nylon stocking or a piece of cheese cloth. Wet the bigger pieces or the smaller ones wrapped up, and put them in your shoes overnight. That will take any odor out of the shoes, and will dry them out, and that really does work. You don't need to fill the shoes up with the pieces, just enough to be about the size of a half dollar will do the job.
