LiPo Rechargeable Battery Replacement

I've got a small sleep monitor sensor that needs to have the Lithium Rechargeable Battery replaced, but I have no idea what to get or where to find it? It measures about 20 mm x 22 mm x 3 mm and is 3.V. Do I need to know the amp rating before I buy? Where do you locate specific batteries like this Zeo Battery.jpg?

On an item like that, the amp rating should not matter. Amp rating is basically just how long the battery will last between charges.

It it was a high current-drain item, which it is not, then the amp rating would come into play.

Anyone know an online source for specialty batteries like this?

What I did for our cordless telephone was Google the make and model of the phone and what type of battery it took. Then Googled up sources for the replacement battery supply. The cheapest supplier/vendor finished up being a seller on eBay with free postage. I am in Australia but it could work for you where you are in the world.

Are you getting those dimensions by measuring the battery or that is the number printed on the battery? I see a few on ebay or AliExpress, such as this listing. I did not do an exhaustive search but I did not see any that were not shipping from China.

I am going by the size of the old lithium rechargeable battery.

That is probably good enough, assuming the fit inside the case is not super tight. But I was also expect for you to find numbers printed on the old battery somewhere; perhaps it is under the foam pad in your photo. I believe this number directly equates to the dimensions of the Lipo battery pack.

Google the numbers and see what comes up. It might give you the battery details and you can then Google suppliers of the battery. Google is your friend.

The numbers are + NL 501023H1 and -S7B1210284 These numbers are meaningless to me
I imagine the +/- are to indicate the polarity of the nearby terminal wires. I am not sure what the numbers mean, but I think 501023 by itself would designate a battery with dimensions of 5mm x 10mm x 23mm. Like can be seen here. While 23mm looks close to what you have measured, 10mm does not.

It is not entirely clear from the posted photo, but looks like the sensor sandwiches a small piece of foam and insulation between the battery pack and circuit board. I suspect that you could replace your battery with one that is roughly the size that you measure. That as long as it fits and is the same charging voltage, it should function. As you are likely aware LiPo batteries can smoke, catch fire,... if damaged, so caution is needed. I don't know if there is a wide range of voltages, charging circuits, etc expected in these small lipo packages, but that seems doubtful. Of course you would need to use caution and monitor for a while if replaced.
