A quick trip to Alfredo and it came back shave ready and looking sparkly. Just finished a shave and very pleased. These things are solid.
Well they finally arrived..... yes “they”.
Shamefully I ended up getting two.
the first is a Cape 650. Looks like 1/2 hollow, about 13/16.

and the second is a Cape but made by Manaslu 1/4 hollow also about 13/16.

I had settled on the 650 but then saw the Manaslu and I have been looking for a 1/4 hollow so I just went ahead and did it.
Is manaslu tanifuji as well?
Since this is a Tanifuji thread, why not show an eye candy.

I have bought some blanks that turned out to be what I think was stamped blanks that were never finished, so they were never ground. When you hone them they end up looking similar.Steve, if I took photos of both sides (which I should do soon) you'd see exactly what was done. It is clearly one of the biggest grinding or honing screwups imaginable. When you see it you'll see what I mean. You'll also be scratching your head because it's a true what were they thinking mistake, antithetical to measure twice, cut once.
It may be worn out, too, but I'll have to take more pictures to show what I'm talking about.
Happy shaves,
Jim
