Tree Swallow (male). One of my favorite avian photo subjects. We have a decent-sized breeding colony in a local nature preserve/park, and the swallows are quite used to foot traffic and photographers.

shot at 70mm on a 24-70mm lens. certianly not a great bird lens but it does give a certian sense of scale to the hummingbird

Best I came up with was some kind of swallow? I really need to get better at this! :tongue_sm

So named because of the waxy red tips at the end of the secondary feathers on the wing. Their function is unknown, but some think that they may help attract mates. They love berries, and flocks of them visit berry producing trees, passing fruit to one another.

Steller's Sea Eagle (Haliaeetus pelagicus)

Unfortunately not a wild bird, but from a zoo I visited last week. They had two, awesome birds.

From a little drive yesterday.
I found two lakes not too far away from where I live. I'm not sure I can't find one of them again, I was just driving around the countryside only using the small roads in an area where I've never been before.
