I had a beard for over a decade last time I grew one. I did not tell her I was going to cut it off, just showed up back home clean shaven with a GI hair cut. It has taken over a year but she has stopped telling me to grow the beard back and let my hair grow long again. I don't think she realizes that it only takes a few minutes to take it off but close to a decade to grow it back down to my waist.
