I propose that if one limits the number of passes during a shave then the edge will need to be honed/ touched-up less because less damage is being done to the edge. Do you think this logic is true? Why?
I ask because I thought if I give myself the single pass shave like a barber, following their trained pattern and it looks good with no irritation then I'm out the door for my client faster and my razor will thank me because its not being used as much and the edge is being deformed less. In addition, I use less soap because I'm doing only one pass. It's slightly stubbly to touch but doesnt look it at all. Normally I did 3-4 passes every morning, it looked awesome and I was always rushing afterwards. Now the mornings are a breeze and if I need to shave before date night then I'm free to go closer later that evening.
Just a thought and I wanted to see if its the right line of thought.
