L'eau d'Ivoire Pour Homme aftershave (Ivy Club Old Spice knock-off)

Picked up a bottle of this on the way home from work and tried it for the first time this morning.

First, I have a major confession to make (OK, maybe two):

1) I had never previously knowingly smelled Old Spice. I had no earthly clue what "Old Spice" smelled like. (I know this is kind of like Squidward telling SpongeBob that he's never tried a Crabby Patty. You just can't get your mind around the concept, but it's true.) It follows that I have no idea about the Shulton version versus the P&G version, etc.

2) I had never previously used an alcohol-based aftershave. In fact, while I'm confessing, I might as well admit that I'd never put an aftershave product of any kind on my face until about April of this year (after finding B&B). I'm 50 years old, and had never used an aftershave.

With that out of the way, I tried it this morning. Pleasantly surprised by two things:

1) I thought it would make me smell like an 80-year-old; I don't think it did.

2) I thought it would burn really badly and then make my face really dry, and it did neither of those things.

Having never smelled Old Spice, I guess I expected it to be profoundly manly, but what I discovered is that it is actually kind of powdery and floral. I thought it would be overpowering but it wasn't.

Overall, I kinda liked it. Certainly well worth the buck and a half I paid for it (LOL).
