Yes, since it is single action, it can't be accidentally discharged unless the hammer is cocked. Even some of the old DA revolver holsters used to have exposed triggers.

Kinda sorta. It also depends on how much protection you want against the elements for you pistola and what kind of ease of access.
They make all kinds, but like @nortac said, the covered trigger is not as important in a SA or DA revolver, with a strap over the hammer, as it is with a Glock or that type. Peruse this at you leisure.
