Just not a fan? Modern Epiphone CAN be hit or miss. I've been lucky with mine. I've never owned an Epiphone acoustic though.

Nah i actually hated to sell it and one son is still mad i didn't give him first optionYes, those are really nice guitars. They’re not making them anymore are they?
Nah i actually loved the bass tone of the Epi but i had 2 Blueridge's that were better players a 140 solid Mahogany and 160 Rose, Ended up giving the 160 to my son that was mad over the EpiJust not a fan? The FG800 is the basic model, kind of a plain jane. The FG830 is not much more money and has sold spruce top with laminated rosewood back and sides and a bit more pizzazz. If you don't want the natural color they also have a tobacco burst color. That seems like a sweet spot for that line. Not looking to spend 1000 up front. I’d go a hundred or so more if I got a lot better guitar, but it sounds like the Yamaha is gonna do just fine.

Correct. I'm a sucker for rosewood. I got sapele last time I bought a guitar, which is also nice. The FG800 has a solid wood top too. Looks as if the main difference is laminated nato vs laminated rosewood. Both are good options, IMO.
