Learn me about AS

I'm interested in trying out some AS. Here's my criteria:

- Cheap
- Easy on the burn
- Not too powerful smelling/lingering

I've never used aftershaves, and have used a balm or two over the years but always found that they smell too strong and stay on too long. I don't want this to be something that other people smell on me, that's what I have cologne for.

I suppose my first AS purchase will be Aqua Velva. Maybe a suggestion to a lime AS, as this intrigues me some.

Suggestions please...

Given your criteria, I gotta go with Speick as a prime contender. Although not cheap, it's not TOO pricey either (14-16$). Burn is minimal (unless you had a machete shave) and smell is awesome and fleeting. Most importantly, it's a seriously top-notch aftershave:

This is just too easy. Cheap, easy on the burn, not lingering, and with a lime smell = Saint Charles Shave Extract of Lime aftershave.

The splash has some alcohol burn, but the Milk is mostly water, witch hazel, and moisturizers. It smells great but the smell does not linger, and it leaves your face feeling wonderful.

Get yourself to www.saintcharlesshave.com and order some! You can even get samples of each. Another option would be their Mediterranean Citrus splash. A little more complex scent than the lime and a bit of menthol at the end. Really nice.

Have you tried skinbracer yet? It has a nice menthol kick and dries down to almost no smell (to me at least). Its a cheap and readily available splash.
