What's new

Learn anything new on B&B recently?

I did.

I found a new Bay Rum that could actually make me a Bay Rum fan: Dominica.

Also learned that most guys here use a single razor for most of their shaves, and many stick with one or two aftershaves. I guess the vocal minority had me believing everyone bought a couple of shave products a week for years without end!

Kidding aside, this is a great place. Friendly folks with some wisdom to share.

It is fun, isn't it? To your point, no, I have not learned anything new lately, but I do love the members and the banter here.

I'm surprised a shaving forum could keep my interest. But it's the quality of the people and the mods/stewards that make the place fun.

I keep learning new variations on lathering soaps that have proven quite hehelpful

I also jumped to the oldest threads in the aftershave section and it looked just like the questions and discussion I've been reading in the newest threads. Apparently there isn't anything new under the sun or on b&b. just new people typing it
it

ive also learned that the people making up this forum have created one of the best, most helpful, most welcoming communities on the web, especially compared to some other shaving related sites. So thanks everyone

That's true in most cases. The questions now were the questions back then. What does change sometimes are the products: new brands, or products of existing brands, are introduced; old brands or products are either reformulated, taken over by another company, or just plain discontinued. Keeping up with that is a good thing. But once you get over the initial learning curve, you'll likely find yourself culling through more and more of the same ol' to find those little nuggets you actually are interested in.

As for learning something new, I was persuaded to try a new aftershave the other day - D.R. Harris sandalwood splash. I ordered it "blind," and am waiting for it to arrive, so I'm not sure if the persuasion was actually helpful. I certainly hope it was.
