What's new

LC9 Kydex

Not to hijack your thread or get off topic, but how do you like your LC9? Went to the range with my Dad and we shot his new LC9. Its a nice little pistol no doubt. Kicks like a mule though surprisingly! Especially for a 9mm. We shot it and my G23 in .40 and the recoil was closer to the G23 than we were expecting it to be.

Neither of us have really shot small carry pistols so maybe its just how they are. Not knocking it, but like I said it was unexpected. What do you think, just curious? :)

All, thank you for your responses, I apologize for the delay in getting back to this thread, we were away all weekend.

Mike, thank you. PJ Holsters were exactly what I was thinking of, I might have to give Paul an email asking if he makes a version that has a removable clip system that could change black out for brown depending on the belt of the day.

John, no worries on the hijack! I like the LC9 a good deal. For me, I don’t mind the long travel of the DA trigger. I find that I can shoot rather well with it. I really like the slim design for concealability, and the grips are nicely textured. There are a few things that I don’t like about it though. I’m not a fan of the loaded chamber indicator, but it doesn’t impede anything. I don’t like the take down pin system, I think there are much easier systems on the market. I do get a bit of trigger finger bite, I think that this is the design of the trigger in combo with the snappy recoil, as you noted. I hate that it has a safety! I train accordingly, but I still do not like that it is one more thing that could go wrong. At the time that I got it, there wasn’t much of an option for a thin single stack 9. I’m now considering a G26 for the future. I also got a heck of a deal on it. I got it for a used price, new. The LGS had a used LC9 listed on their website and after going to the store several times looking for it and not finding it, I wrote them a simple note that they may want to remove it from the website. Their response was that I could come in and purchase a new one for the price of the used one. I didn’t think too long on that offer.

Thanks,
Brian

Happy to help. Hope Paul is able to produce what you need.
