Lazy silo door on a Superspeed.....

no big deal, or cause for concern?

The door opens about 3/4 of the way, then you can make it open by gravity (tipping the razor slightly). Seems to tighten down well, and otherwise seems OK.

Is this little fault something that's likely to worsen, or turn into a TTO mechanism that doesn't work? Or is the "lazy door" syndrome likely to remain just a lazy door?

Thanks in advance, razor afficionados.

I wouldn't worry about it. If gravity opens it it means there is nothing catching. Usually a lazy door is associated with a bent guard bar which is catch the silo door. I wouldn't call yours a true lazy door. I just checked several SS's and some Super Adjustables and a few of them do the same thing, yet they work perfectly. I hadn't even noticed before. And they don't always do it. It depends on the angle of the razor when opening.

Picked up a Superseed a few weeks ago that had the same problem with one door opening just 3/4 of the way. Mr. Gravity has to do the rest.

I think I can live with it because it shaves great.

Very common issue and really no big deal unless you are building a collection of mint Gillettes complete with shipper and original price tags! Enjoy your razor(s)!!!

+1 on the above

As long as the doors are closing properly, nothing to worry about!

Thanks, gents. I appreciate your help. Otherwise she is a beautiful razor. I won't give it another thought.
