Here's another entry in my Lather Video Series (I'm redoing them in 720p) and figured what better product to use then Mystic Water Soap.

Many have had issues with this one in the past, including myself, but I am now get consistently great lather and shave from it, face lathering and it has quickly become one of my favourite products to use.

I am using Mysic Water Soap Lavender/Lime scent, Savile Row 3824 Finest Silvertip Brush and a SRD mug to catch drippings.

The lather turned out quite well, thick, creamy and no bubbles. With this amount of product used, I always get 3 thick, luxurious passes and have a bonus lather for my face during brush/razor clean up. The bonus lather during clean up, seems to give my face the extra moisturises it would not normally get if i just finished with a rinse.

I've add some "notes" in the video, but it should be pretty straight forward to most of you.

Look for future lather videos as I have time. I haven't figured out how to get a true "Face Lather" camera set up, so am using my hand as the canvass in this video.

Directions:
Soak Brush
Shake Brush till damp
Lather on puck for 45-60sec over a mug
Wet Face and Lather until desired consistancy is achieved
Add water to brush if drying out

If anyone has any questions, tips or suggestions, please let me know.

Thanks, that was another helpful video with another great soundtrack.

You have fine taste in music as well as fine taste in soaps.

Great instructional video. This is the kind of thing that really helps someone new to soaps. Keep up the good work.

That's a great video my friend. Palm lathering is an all too familiar site to me..... been breaking in those boar brushes  . Thanks for posting!

I've used Mystic Waters soap exactly twice and today I had phenomenal results. I think this soap benefits from a brush that loads up on soap quickly. A "soap eater" is exactly what you need.

Load for a minute as a baseline. I've gone longer than that if I thought I need it.

Once a decent amount of soap is in the brush it tends to be dry. I face lather and then dip the tips of the brush in water until I have the lather I want. It sure is a slick lather! Good stuff :thumbup1:

Bruce - You're burning through that puck. Are you 3017ing that thing?

Thanks everyone...I enjoy making the odd lather video now and again and this product was overdue for a new video, especially with all the posts and people having issues lathering it. I wanted everyone to see how easy it is to lather and the quality of the lather it can produce.

great advise Greg. and yes, i've been 3017ing it with soap eating brushes (D01, M&F Chubby, Rooney Old Stock etc), but have 3 new pucks waiting to be used after I get thru a few other products.

i also load for about 60sec with this soap and then face lather it. i find i do NOT have to dip or wet my brush much, as all the extra lather drippings caught in my mug keep the brush moist between passes and make sure i have extra rich and creamy lather for pass 2 and 3. i have been using the SRD scuttle (basically a brush scuttle) for my Face Lathering with MW, but am not warming up the outer bowl at all and just using it as a dry scuttle. I do warm up my brush with hot, hot tap water though.

the odd time, i will dip my tips on pass 1, but it's not a regular occurrence for me to have to do so.

I hope many will benefit from this video who have difficultly lathering Mystic Water Soaps. It's a fantastic soap, and it's one of my favorites.

nice video bruce! I have to say I was searching for your MWF video the other day and found it missing on youtube - I guess you have taken down your old videos for some upgrading. The hard work definitely shows in this one - nice job!

Awesome video Bruce! I'm loving my MW right now, though i use Marco's method to lather. Take a little longer, but i've been enjoying a really rich lather. Tomorrow I'm going to give your technique a try. Thanks for the video !

thank you, and yes, i've used the "Marco Method" for lathering it as well, but not in a while as the current method is working with no issues for me and has been for a while now.

water hardness and quality may be why some have issues with MW and/or can't get it to lather, but it seems to be one that once you dial it in, it becomes a no brainer to lather.

Great work Bruce. This is the sort of lather I get with MW and it goes through the nearly an identical metamorphosis. You can clearly see the what I call the paste phase about a third of the way through the building of the lather. Then all at once it blooms into that wonderful meringue. This is the point where the liliy of the valley and unscented separate themselves as the best lather I have used. With those two I keep adding water in small amounts and they just get richer and creamier. My current cake of wild lavender will not make that extra step but is still superb. I feel it is due to the slight variances between no scenting compounds and the essential and fragrance oils. Mystic Water quickly took the top spot in my rotation and your video amply illustrates why.

Cheers, Todd
