Now for something completely different...

Ever-Ready 55 vintage horsehair knot (very fine horsehair)
Modern Williams Mug

This brush hates a dense lather. Very soft face feel, zero scrub. Paint, splay, whatever - just a soft transfer of lather from brush to face.

Williams Mug on a Yaqi 24mm Heavy Metal
Williams on a 26mm Yaqi Moka Two Band 👍

After seeing MrBeez Williams Mug lathers on those two Yaqi badgers, I had to see if I could get a finer grained Williams lather with my Shave Forge horse knot in the long honking handle I turned for it.

I moved up in lather bowl size twice during the experiment, finishing in a heavy copper Captain's Choice bowl.

Answer - slightly denser/finer lather, but horse=airy for me today.

Horse-airy! 🤣🤣🤣 Excellent experiment! Ya I find the larger brushes make lathering with Williams a bit easier since there’s just more surface area there to work with. In the end I get a pretty decent lather it’s just not super dense but I find Williams to be so slick I’m fine with a thinner lather. And if anything I use less water with Williams. The key for me is to not over-think Williams. Just go easy on the water and swirl away.

Btw, nice looking handle there! May The Horse be with you. I just couldn’t resist 🤣
