Lather - post up your favorite brush with a head of lather

@BigD This is a fantastic thread you have some stunning lathers going, more so with the down to earth soaps that we all love..

(Apart from Williams mug soap cough cough) As that is one that I cannot master for the love of me, vintage one fantastic but the modern one I have more chance in platting fog.
Try soaking your puck with distilled water for 24 hours. Dump the water put in hot water with your puck and brush while you shower. Dump the water in a bowl and ring out the brush. Load the brush like it owes you money. Bring it to a lather bowl. Add water from the bloom water slowly until you have desired lather. Scrub the lather on, then paint it. Best lather you'll ever have.

@BigD Thank you I will sure give this a try, as I have tried & tried with this soap with no luck. I will let you know how it goes as I still have 3 pucks out of 5, I gave 2 away to people that live in the UK that wanted to try it......

Nothing wrong with that. I love all my gear, but if I could do it all over I'd stick with the Rockwell 6 series, an Italian professional boar, and Williams.

Yep I can understand that, where for me it would be a straight razor, 2 band badger, and Mitchell's Wool Fat. or Arco as i love the smell of both plus fantastic lather and slick...

I had issues with Williams as well until I started covering the puck with water while I took a shower. I dump the water and then lather. Not my favorite soap, but definitely better doing that then what I had before.

I think these posts are big fun. But if you're new to shaving you should know that many of these pictures have enough lather for 7 or 8 passes.

Don't do this at home.

Except for rare occasions I use every bit of the lather I create. I like it thick for every pass, clean my glasses, underarms, enough for a post shave face wash/soak, and a hand wash. If you have a V8 why wouldn't you use every cylinder?

I like it thick as well, but I only make enough lather for my shave. Now if I were to post in lather porn I'd certainly make a little extra for the photo . . .

Nah, no point in making extra. Picture, no picture, doesn't matter. Use it up. The times I do make "too much", usually with experimenting with a new soap and overloading, I clean the mirror with it. Helps stop fogging. No such thing as extra.
