Laser Ammo

I was reading a pretty good article on laser ammo for repetitive practice in your home. Of course it won't simulate the recoil but otherwise it seemed very helpful. Especially with draw and fire from a holster, and some other drills. Has anyone tried it in their home?

Hm, I have the LaserLyte training kit. A G19-like pistola with a color blinking target.

It's an eye-opener to your skills, is all I can say - good or bad!

It does make me smile to pick it up after weeks of non-use and ping all the doorknobs, artwork etc.

Unfortunately, the cat is trained to the sound - and she loves laser dots! Practice is immediately accompanied by an anxious-to-kill cat.

The laser ammo, with the actual firearm you use, would likely be better. The plastic G19 is fairly good, though, and never a chance of a slipup.

Way back when I was issued a S&W 5906, we used a Beam Hit system to practice the DA trigger pull of the first shot. It probably helped some shooters, because many people would miss or at least pull off from their point of aim for the first shot with a DA/SA gun.
