Am I right in thinking that C&S used to sell their large shaving soap in a glass bowl? I only see the metal ones now. Are the old ones gone forever?
Large c&s 88 soap question

I've only seen the No 88 dish as anodized aluminum (but I've only been eyeing it for a few months). I thought that the Oxford and Cambridge came in a glass blue bowl. I checked out the C&S website, and they only have the travel soap in a bowl (which is aluminum), and no full size pucks in a bowl. Maybe they're out of stock.
The full size 88 and the O&C were both available in a glass dish.
Both have been unavailable for quite a while now.
To the best of my knowledge only a couple of B&B'er had the dish so it would be a real score if you found one. I had a WTB posted for the longest time.

It's a blessing that the glass bowl is no longer available, it was like $100 for it.

I emailed C&S back in February inquiring about the glass dish. Below is their reply:
We have the large black dishes(No88) in stock now here in our Jermyn Street Showroom. They are now made in an anodised aluminium and are £90 (including VAT, excluding freight). At present there are no immediate plans for the O&C - however we would like to re-launch the product at some point in the future. Of course we still do the Refills for the O&C large shaving dish and they do fit in the large black dishes.
If you would like to order one you can either E-Mail us, or give us a call on +44 (0) 207 439 0216. We need the invoice and delivery address, credit card number, expiry (and start date if applicable) and the three digit security code.
So if you're feeling spendy, fire away.
