Lamy 2000 nib replacement?

I have a Lamy 2000 with a M nib in it, anyone who has a 2000 knows they're pretty wet writers and with a M nib in it it's like using a paint brush. My google-fu is weak today and I haven't found a definitive answer one way or the other but is it possible to get the nib replaced in it? I haven't found any sites that say they do it but there's all kinds of talk of it being possible.

If it is possible has anyone here had it done, where did you send the pen and is it worth having done? Or should I just save my pennies and get another 2000 but with a F nib?

Thanks

The Lamy USA website does not list replacement nibs for the 2000 model. Other models (Safari, Al-Star) list replacement nibs.

I believe that Pendelton will regrind a 2000 to their Pendelton Point, I think the service runs about $40 and includes a few adjustments if needed.

I have seen nibs for sale on FPN. I had Pendelton Brown grind a Pendelton point on my medium nib 2000. It writes great!

Thanks for the help gentlemen. I have two options now. :thumbup1:

Dave, when you had the Pendelton point put on your M 2000 did you get the nib size reduced as well?

No, I liked how wet and broad the nib was, I had it ground just because I wanted to, not to reduce it.

The integrated nib/section is a skew-in item, and can be purchase through a LAMY retailer. Why not have both, and interchange when needed?
