Lady's first impression.blah

Lady's first DE shaving experience.

So I had hoped that my first experience with my DE razor and the C.O. Bigelow weird, old-man smelling cream would be much more than it was.

Basically I just took a job that I could do from top to bottom and get a super close, squeaky (so close that when I rub my leg under water it squeaks hahaha) shave (shave everything) in 2-3 minutes to a job that takes 7-8 minutes.

I was scared of the razor at first because of hearing all of the "cut yourself" talk...but after the first swipe, I was swiping it over my legs like a pro. Did I get a close shave? Yes. Any closer than I got with the Schick Hydro? No.

And now I'm wondering why I couldn't just use my $1/can stuff that squirts right into your hand already lathered & foamy AND smells like Fresh Spring Rain or whatever. lol.

But hey...I'll keep doing it to save money. Blades certainly are cheaper.

At least my razor is like a pretty piece of jewelry.

i don't see why you couldn't use the $1 can stuff. give the Bigelow to your husband. You are back to doing the shave in 2-3 minutes and still saving money on the blades. win win!

Well, after discussing some with a friend...

Can would only last a month or so.

Puck of soap might last a year.

Lol.

The Bigelow does belong to my husband. Just used it because I haven't gotten around to buying any soap for myself.

7-8 minutes is still pretty good considering most of us guys here spend 20-30 minutes on our face.

If you don't care for the smell of the Bigelow, there are hundreds of other soaps and creams available.
GFT Limes is really good.

Fridays are Fishtastic!
Get a nicely scented soap to help the experience. Klar Kabinett is a wonderful rose scent, and will last a LONG time. Even to those that want to stick with cartridge razors I recommend using a good soap and brush- it is fun to build your own lather, andi doesn't smell like petro-chemicals.

Van Der Hagen makes a fine ladies soap that my wife uses. It is a combo bath and shaving bar. You can find it at CVS... She just grabs one of my brushes to lather. Can't get her to try a DE razor though...

I wanna be sedated!
Another option is a shave stick for chicks. Wendy at Saint Charles Shave sells them. My wife loves it, it looks like a deodorant stick you smear it on your legs and then use the brush to build lather right on your legs.

I know, I know. Just haven't made it out to get me any soap or order any. Regardless I can't imagine it would improve the time consuming experience much.

Let's just face it...a man's place is in the bathroom...a woman's place is in the kitchen.

HAHA.

I'll never get out of a shave what I get out of making homemade bread and jams... and vice versa.

Bah, love making me some bread. Return on time invested is pretty similar :)

I hope that your experiences with the new razor improve. Just one little tip; we shave our faces daily (or almost daily) whereas women tend to shave less frequently. Please try to store your razor and blade in a dry place to minimise rust/corrosion.

Good luck!
