Lady Gillette. What is a reasonable price?

It is interesting that while I am waiting for my first de razor to arrive, my wife has already decided she wants to give it a try. She saw a lady gillette on ebay and has decided that that is what she wants. Not being one to argue with my wife, I am looking for one and I would prefer not to break the bank. She wants one that is new (or as close to it as doesn't matter) and would like to have the case. I am wondering what a reasonable price range is for this. I don't want to get ripped off, but I want to get her what she wants.

Thanks for any input you can give!

Bear in mind that while there is a lot of expertise here, B&B is not an appraisal/valuation site.
Plus always remember, an item is worth exactly how much someone is willing to pay for it at a given time.
Best bet is to search for recent past items on BST or on ebay.

As has been said, it will be worth what you are willing to pay.
Surely you can't put a price on your wife's happiness?

As said, worth and value is in the mind of the buyer. That said, I will give the OP my view... <$20 is a good deal, $20-30 is reasonable, >$30 is getting about out of range unless the LG is mint and in a case.

That being said (and I agree), it would make my wife happy if we had another car. That doesn't mean I have the money to make that happen. ;)

Thank you very much for your input. One mint in box razor just went for over $50 on ebay. I had bid in the high forties, but I wasn't going to go any higher. I am looking at completed listings now. I am not a big ebayer. It hadn't occurred to me.

My wife wanted to try a DE on her legs so I handed over a Knack. I figured if she likes it I would then buy her an LG. She did and an LG is enroute.

If you don't mind my asking, where did you get the LG and how much were you able to get it for?

The ones most likely to be new will be from the 70's and have no case. I paid about $50 for a new in package, even two years ago. It came from Canada, and Customs fooled around with packaging to make sure nothing was inside the blister pack. Luckily, I bought it for my daughter to use and not as a collectible. This razor is in demand, so get to know the market by doing as suggested in this thread.

I have all four, uncased average cost $25.00. I would suspect to pay upwards of $50.00 for a near mint one with case. Those cases were cheaply made and a lot of them just did not survive.

You might also keep an eye out for a long handle Super Adjustable. Will cost a little more, but it can be customized to match her blade, skin, shave style and skill level.

I think the Lady one's are pretty dang slick looking. I know I'll get one for myself one of these days but I'm not sure which color: blue, red, or champagne. I've seen some listed as pink but I couldn't tell if that was just a faded red one or not.

I just scored an unused blue lady gillette in box for $32 on ebay. I guess I got lucky! Thank you all for the input.
