What's new

Lack of Variety

For over 5 years I've only ever used Proraso. I've used the green, red, white, light blue and green/red.
Cremo - add a bit of it to any of the Proraso croaps.

Using it as intended ("brushless") is just boring and sad, but it's a terrific additive.
A tube of Nivea Originals is good as an additive too.

Really appreciate the suggestions everyone. I think I'm going to start with the Tabac.

Still curious what others have to suggest.

Great choice!! Everyone agrees that Tabac performs!

Some like the scent, others don’t. The only way to tell is to try it yourself!

So many great soaps out there, and so little time to enjoy them all ....
Three of my current favorites .....
Have fun !

Razo Rock XXX from Italian Barber or any of the hundreds of quality
soaps that you can get from Maggards, West Coast shaving, or any of
several other vendors. You can't go wrong with a good tallow soap.
Wet Shaving Products makes a good soap, both vegan and tallow, Cold
River soap Works are highly regarded, Pheonix Artisan Accoutrements
has a wide range of scents in a vegan formula as does Soap Commander.
Wholly Kaw is highly regarded as is Sudsy Soapery. Barrister and Mann
is another. Besides artisans, there is a whole slew of traditional soaps
such as Tabac, Dr Harris, LPL, TOBs, etc. Picking the best performing soap
is like splitting hairs to me, sure some are slicker and such but I'm sure
that you will be pleased with whatever you choose. There are so many soaps
that you're just going to have to pick one or however many you want and go with
it. And don't forget samples, relatively cheap and a sample will provide ample shaves.

A little poofier than I prefer
Maybe pick up a few sample packs from WCS or Maggards or your favorite purveyor of fine shaving soaps.

Would any of you be willing to trade some soap/blades so I can try one of your recommended soaps?

If be willing to trade some Persona blades and a blue Proraso soap (in the tube).

Not sure if that is a fair trade, but if so maybe we can trade.

Probably easier and just as economical, of course you have shipping cost, to order a few packs
of sample blades and some soap samples from Maggards or West Coast shaving. Or look in the
buy, sell, trade section of this site.
