I’m in Boston for business and it turns out my Hotel is about 6 blocks from L.J. Peretti. If they have it in stock I’m probably going to pick up some of their 150th flake but can’t decide what else to get. Anyone have any suggestions for their house blends? Who knows,I may pick up a pipe or two as well. I want to get out to Watch City Cigar while I’m here too, but it’s a 30min drive in a direction I don’t need to go so they may have to wait until next time.

Tashkent and English 110. If you pick only one, pick Tashkent.

Also, taxes are pretty high in Mass. I plan on visiting in Sept, and was told that anything I buy, they will ship back to my home and you get that tax free benefit.

I would really head out to Watch City too. Those Flakes are soooooo good.

Watch City and Peretti are some of the premier US small blenders in my very humble opinion.

I saw the 40% tobacco tax. Maybe I’ll just pick up an ounce of a few different blends then order what I liked when I get home.

Take pictures!!!
All I got was one from outside. It’s a small shop and was very crowded while I was there. I’ll post pics of the spoils in a while. It’s divided about 1/2 pipes/pipe tobacco and 1/2 cigars. The scale used to weigh out the tobacco was cast iron and looked to be as old as the store.

So I went back and got some pics. The guys out front were sitting there when I went in the first time and again when I went back 3hrs later. The guy on the far left is making leather tobacco pouches by hand.

Small rusticated basket pipe- H.I.S brand, 1oz #8 flake, 1oz Tashkent, 1oz London Flake, 2oz Cuban, 2oz 150th anniversary flake. Sorry for the terrible picture. The lighting in our Hotel is terrible. I’ll smoke through these and see which ones I want to order more of. They also told me if you place an online order and ask for a sample of something in the notes they’ll send it along with your order.

The pipe above is actually a light sandblast, not sure why I called it a rusticated. Long day.

The "Peretti's Vintage" pipes for $70 look appealing.
