I see alot of the Kriegar razor blades for sale on ebay, prices start at $20. Are they decent or should I spend more money on a more expensive brand?
Just so you don't have to rent a hoist for your Petard, have you actually tried to hone and use one? This is asked in the spirit of scientific inquiry and on behalf of lumberjack commandos everywhere.

I bought one. There was a post (either here or on the other forum) about using them and I decided to try. They make good weights for the trash bag - it won't fly off and the raccoons tire of trying to carry it away. Definitely not a razor... not even a good knife.
Honing them is similar to the other psuedo razors - the blade is too thin to make a good angle for the edge and the metal, once forced into a sharp state, won't last more than a few swipes on my beard. The scales are over-weight and don't feel natural as a razor. There will always be someone who says they managed a good edge on a turd and now can use it to shave their beard at 20 paces - but for mere mortals, this razor is a piece of crap.
