About a week or so ago, I ordered, and subsequently did a review on a tin of Klar Seifen Klassik shaving soap (http://badgerandblade.com/vb/showth...VE-butterscotch!-A-Klar-Seifen-Klassik-review)
That got my friend Ian (SliceOfLife) and I talking about his experience with the other Klar offering, their Kabinett shaving soap. To give a little perspective, you pay $30 for 110g of the Seifen where the Kabinett will only set you back about $20 for a whopping 500g. That's a huge difference. That will be important as you read this review.
Anyways, as soon as I heard that he had never tried the Seifen, I reached out and we did a trade.
This morning I went out to find a nice sized package in the mailbox containing not only a generous sample of the Kabinett, but quite a few other soaps from his own personal stash. Ian is quite the stand up guy.
Here are my thoughts on the Klar Kabinett. First off, this product has the texture of an Italian Croap. It is extremely pliable and very easy to load like Cella, RazoRock, etc. The scent is a VERY nice Rose. Not in your face, not so faint that you can't smell it, just a very nice soft, powdery rose that's not feminine. If you're a fan of lighter scented soaps like MWF, this is for you. The performance of this soap is outstanding. No doubt about it. It is thick, creamy, supremely slick and leaves your skin feeling outstanding. Very smooth and very hydrated.
Now here's the kicker. It lathers SO similarly to the Seifen, that Ian and I both agreed that the value lies with this soap 100%. You can't argue with the value that this presents. If you're looking for an outstanding soap that you can buy in bulk like kilo's of Cella, this would be a great buy. I am extremely impressed with both of these Klar products, but when they are both gone, I think I will opt for the Kabinett to reorder.
Anyways, this thread is worthless without pics so here you go. I used my Duke 3 in Best, loaded for about 30 seconds and added water 3 times to achieve the lather that you see. All in all, took me about 2 minutes. My last video received good review, so if anyone would like to see video of how I achieved these results, just ask. I would be happy to deliver that for you.
Cheers!
