Kitchen Scale

I have had mine for a long time and I bought it while living in Taiwan, so that probably does not help, but I can give you some tips that I think are important.

The multiple tare option is very handy, so you can add ingredients, zero out the weight and then repeat several times.

I think it is handy to have it convert between English and Metric units and have accuracy to 1 gram.

Total capacity will depend on the base use -- mine is good for about 22 pounds and that cost me a little accuracy (good to +/- 5 grams = a little less than 0.2 ounces).

Soenhle are a good, solid and accurate kitchen scale that will do most jobs in a home kitchen for years. They are a German brand but like most things they could be made anywhere now, I think they are still good value for the money.

The only thing I noticed is the price is tied to how many different weights a scale can record, so you either get an accurate scale that can only weight a small weight, or you get one that handles larger weights with lower accuracy. If you need both accuracy and hecy weight, you might be better off getting two spearate scales.

I have an i5000 professional and have been quite pleased with it:

I've also had good luck with a Salter. I have an excellent Ohaus, but its a bit too much scale for kitchen use. Being able to move the scale between counter and cupboard frequently is a big plus, as is a flat platform. I've had scales with hoppers and other "extras" and they pretty much end up being useless.

Bed, Bath, & Beyond actually has about 5 or 6 options. Anywhere from $15 to $60, I believe based on the features. I picked up an inexpensive one for my wife's birthday.
