Killer Bull

Here I am, 1st again.
Farmer killed by a bull
Croatian Times
A farmer has been gored to death by a bull.
Police in Virje in the north of the country said the animal had turned on the
77-year-old as he went to feed him yesterday (Mon) afternoon.
They added the man died within minutes of the attack.

Now I want to see if I can post the bull's picture.

I couldn't insert a bigger picture. Only this little thing.

I believe it. My Great Grandpa had a farm that my cousin ran. The cows got out one day and they Great Grandma and grandpa were herding them back in. The bull charged grandma. She escaped by jumping over the fence. She was in her mid eighties. A month earlier, I was helping my grandma down some shallow stairs to her seat. I guess when your Great Gandson offers an arm, you take it whether you need it or not.

This picture is slightly bigger.

I got interested in bulls. Then I read about one of the meanest bulls ever to enter a rodeo. His name was 'Bodacious'. This bull was a head butter. First he butted one cowboy's head and almost made him unconcious. The next cowboy came prepared . He wore a hockey mask. But it did him no good. For his face got smashed good. And he had to spend 6 1/2 hours in reconstructive surgery.

It happens. Almost lost a high school classmate to a bull attack.

Never turn your back on them; always have an escape route.

Here's the link to Bodacious if anyone is interested.

Tuff Hedeman is the man whose face was smashed by Bodacious. Scott Breding put the mask on and had the same thing happen. I don't know about his injuries though.

Most normal Bulls are ornery animals to begin with. Some of course are raised to be especially ornery. If you think of a Bull as just a male version of a cow like elsie the cow or something and you got within range of one your attitude would be adjusted rite fast.

This is Bodacious, that killer Bull.
He looks like a Red Hereford to me.

I worked in a community where livestock was raised and one of the locals got pinned in a stall by a bull. He tried to get help, but he died before he could get back to the house from the barn. His wife wanted to kill the bull, but he was deemed to valuable, so the sons made a deal and shipped him off to Saudi Arabia.

From a Kansas farm boy here--never, and I mean never, get a bull mad at you. Just watch a rodeo if you need proof.

We have a farm. For 35 years my family milked. Every now and then we would have a Holstein that would go from docile to mean. For the past 35 years, we have had nothing but beef cattle. All the bulls have been black Angus. Never had one of them turn.

As kids, we played in the pastures and barns around the cattle all the time. Rarely would an adult be close by. I dont recall but one time ever being warned to stay out because the bull was mean. I was probably 5 or 6 then. I know he wasn't around long.
