What's new

kent/mwf soap

the local chemist had pucks of kent soap in so i thought i would give it a try, my only use of hard soaps was wilkinson sword blue, palmolive stick and erasmic stick, now i did not realy think much of these and thought creams were a lot better, after trying the kent with a method someone from here used, the lukewarm water, brush with not much water and bowl lathering i am now going to try some more hard soaps, what a differance the kent soap makes to the skin and is very slick, i will need to give tabac a try now along with a few other hard soaps.

I had used AOS cream exclusively for over a year. on a whim I picked up a few hard soaps. Now, the only time I use creams on any regular basis is if I am traveling.

My fav soaps right now are TOBS St. Jermyne (sp?), D.R. Harris Arlington and Proraso (a soft soap, but wonderful).

Welcome to the world of soaps!

i was surprised just how good this was compared to the hard soap shave sticks, i know a lot of people like the shave sticks, but i cannot get into them, the palmolive stick gets a lot of praise, but to me its no better than hand soap for shaving with, i think thats why i have been on the shaving cream so long, the sticks put me of hard soap.

It's all a matter of technique and learning the soap, each type of soap requires different method to get optimal lather. Give the sticks another chance after you have perfected you hard soap lathering and I think you will find that the palmolive produces a outstanding lather. I use one when I'm traveling and only want minimal product, at home I use hard soaps and creams, as I find them a little more convenient.
