I started a thread like this one a few years back when we bought our first house. We had so many spiders it looked like a cheesy SciFy Channel movie. I used to Home Defense spray a few times it worked ok. When it rains I see a few inside but it got much better.

Two problems with the cat idea.
1. I sleep with 2 huge scary dogs.
2. they cant reach the corners of the ceiling. hahaha
