So it would seem that the aluminum razor might not have been the only hold up on getting stainless razors to everyone on the list it looks as though Chris is supplying Razor Emporium with Karve products this week to sell on his site!! This guys priorities just are all over the place and he obviously has no respect for his own customer base or anyone on the waiting list!! Funny stuff right here....:quickdraw

I saw this posted on another site...

Just to give a heads up to those that are looking into acquiring a Karve razor. There will be some available over at Razor Emporium within the next couple of days if not up already. Not sure if just Brass, Stainless or both. And according to their Instagram posting they will have customizable finishes in either Rhodium, Nickel, Gold and other finishes. Just another option for those stateside.....

I don't see any Karve razors listed on Razor Emporium for sale.

I use mine, rinse and dry it. Still developing a patina which I didn't pay any notice to. I picked up another plate and it showed me how much it changed. I like it. I'm not really interested in a mirror finished showcased item. I like to just use them.

Razor Emporium posted on their Instagram account 5 days ago that Karve razors would be added onto their website “in the coming days”.
But they’re not on the site yet.

Also...
Today I got a newsletter email from Maggard Razors about new current and future products.
On the “Coming Soon” list they also have Karve razors, but without any details or an estimated date, etc
Looks like Karve are planning to sell through quite a few of the major third party vendors/ sites, although no idea about timeframe ... whether they’ll clear the wait list on their own site first, or try to start sending small stock to these vendors at the same time, etc

More porn.

Which baseplate do you have on your Timeless Ti: .68 or .95?
And which Karve baseplate do you find to be similar to it, in terms of efficiency/ smoothness/ face feel?
I have the .68 and both the C and D plates on the Karve. I find the C plate and .68 are close. However, the D plate is a little more efficient but just as smooth.

It will stain! I rinse, wash and dry it after each use, and still has some dark stains. A few seem to be permanent. And yes: it will stink! Just like having a penny jar and sticking your hand in it after a while.....

I Waxed The Badger.
No razor should be put away wet with a blade still in it... Bad things can happen doing it that way!! I break down whatever razor I use after every shave. I wipe down both plates, handle, and the blade.

Not in my house. Quick rinse with the blade in and it gets put away. Sometimes I towel off the water drops, sometimes I don't. Still waiting for bad things to happen. These are utilitarian items, not family heirlooms to me. In other words, if I had a Rolex, I'd wear it to change oil in my vehicle and not give a darn.

I am wondering if there is also the factor of "delicacy" coming into play. Those thinner teeth are more likely to bend on impact (if the razor is dropped), or worse.
I doubt it I've complained loudly before about clunky razors and the squared off chunky open comb teeth. It's due to ease of machining and nothing else in my opinion.

That said, I did recently order a Karve OC plate and I'm sure I will like it, but I'd like a Fatip style comb better.

FWIW, the smell comes from skin oils on the metal, not from the elemental metal itself. (Metals this hard don't smell, there aren't any particles popping off. See this exploration of the compound you're smelling:
)

So keeping it polished and coated will definitely reduce the smell compared to a workshop tool or something. I'm hyper-sensitive to the scent so I avoid brass and copper (and even some grades of steel), but that look of a natural patina is almost enough to get me some days.

I've been assessing the Timeless ss .95 solid bar and the Karve brass solid bar E and F. I find the F plate very comparable to the .95. Both the Timeless and Karve in the .95 and F require a little more beard prep. A good wash in warm water and maybe some oil or Proraso prep. But all in all I think the F is a keeper for me. You can use a lot of different handles with the brass Karve as well. Don't get me started on the Karve stainless, it's a tough razor to get a hold of.

My stainless 3.5 with C & D safety bar plates should be here Tuesday. I’m hopeful that my plate selections will serve me well.

Well, after reading this entire thread, watching a number of YouTube videos, and reading many reviews, I have placed my order! A brass 3.25” razor with B, C, and D plates. My daily razor is a Rockwell 6s with plates R3, R4, and R5, and I’m hoping that this will be replaced by the Karve (I’ve never loved the clunky head on the 6s, but the shaves have been fantastic!).

Now we wait...
