Kamisori Storage

It is NO WHERE NEAR perfect but it was a fun little project.

I also put the kamisori in "backward"-there is always next time

Looks great! To me putting the flater side down the way you did makes more sense. I keep my Kami (your "old" one) is a cardboard box with a few packing penuts wedged in there to hold it in place - not pretty!

I've always wondered about this, I've got a special place for it in my razor box where it just lays flat. I'm always afraid of banging the cutting edge on something.

Mine is still wrapped in its little bit of paper, in its original wooden box. I always intended to make it a stand. In fact I did...Hmmm

I have no idea where it is now.

Nice job. Would you change the hinge style or placement next time?
No, I think the placement is OK, my execution is subpar
Nice Doc. If you need more "test samples" let me know :)
Sure send my way for proper disposal
Is that an Azuma Yasuki Steel?
It's on it's way to its owner, I do believe it is
If it is, I've got a twin! Got it NOS and honed it once, great little thing and my only remaining Kamisori.
Nice kamisori, tried it again. Just not for me.

Had one of those 'Zumas - sold it.
If I had that box - I mighta kept it.
Need something for the bathroom when in use. Not a wood box though.

If you lay the darned thing down stamped side up on the counter or similar the wedge keeps the edge off the surface. I use a small sheet of that non-skid drawer material, the one that looks like a bunch of small rubber balls stuck together, to lay my kamisori on mid shave.

That's a cool looking box there. I was myself thinking of constructing one but from cardboard, that I could use for storage (mainly because I want to send mine for honing and can't think of how to protect the edge in transit lol).

Doc didn't like the special bubble wrap I used to send that kami to him for honing. Everyone knows about Doc's edges and scales; they are top notch. This was a great surprise. Thank you Alfredo.

Brooksie, yes, separated at birth?

Perhaps yes lol! Mine gets VERY limited use but it's so easy to touch up and always gives a nice shave!
