Just Won a "Schick Krona" on eBay

I always wanted one of these "Schick Krona" and just won one on eBay. In a week or so when the postie gets here I'll know for sure. Below are the eBay pics. Can anyone comment on this model, the listing description had very little content.
Thanks

I just got one last week, and it is a great razor. Slightly more aggressive than a late 40's SS. The handle is relatively long compared to most other vintage DE razors. It's kinda light weight, but other than that, a nice shaver!

I like my Krona very much. The only problem I have with it is with the door opening slightly in the shave process. It must be the way I am holding the razor. I have a problem where my small finger must be turning the bottom knob to open the doors. I don't have this problem with a Super Speed where the handle is shorter. I make sure I tighten up the doors on each rinse. Everyone hold their razors differently, so it may not be a problem for you. Just a heads up. Enjoy your razor.

I've got a real soft spot for those, it was my first razor. My big brother bought it with me at the Rexall for about $1.19 when I was in high school -- still have it (plus a back-up unit).

Mild shaver. I remember well opening up the knob a tiny bit to make it shave a little closer once I got the hang of it. :biggrin1:

That should be a good shaver. Schick_Krona has some information. I would guess yours is the final design, ca. 1968-75. But we are not sure exactly when production ceased. Actually we are not sure about much of anything with the Krona, but that looks like the US3376637 design, patented April 1968.

The plastic tip has for me always been the milder shaver, compared to the metal. Match it with a sharp blade and you're set. Here's mine; it matches the one linked above in the Wiki. This makes a half-dozen I've had pass through here -- but I'm keeping this one.* :001_smile

*They're all good.

I'm not much for plastic handles, but the Schick Krona's have always looked really nice to me. Yours looks to be in good shape, plus I really like the etching on the head. Congratulations on a good find. I hope you get many nice shaves out of it.
