They had 3 of the new plastic bottles on the shelf and 2 of the old glass ones pushed way to the back. I grabbed one bottle. Is it lame that I intend to keep this glass bottle and funnel future bottles of Aqua Velva into it?

No, not at all. I've been pouring AV from the most recent glass bottles into an older one, so it makes perfect sense to pour it from the plastic into glass.
Rhetorical question for you: Is it lame to have stockpiled 7 large bottles of AV in my freezer for the shavepocalypse?

I grabbed a couple of glass bottles last month as well. I also bought a plastic bottle for my travel kit, and it smells exactly the same. I do like the heft and feel of the glass bottle for everyday use though.
I would love to find an old glass AV bottle from the 70's (see Polaar's avatar) that I could decant new AV into. Aqua Velva is what my dad used to wear and I would love to have the bottle to sit on my counter.

You're right. I can't argue. I was with my wife, however, and she thinks I'm certifiably insane when it comes to shaving equipment.
Although I don't use aftershave, when I heard that Aqua Velva was going to plastic bottles, I picked up some in a glass bottle at the grocery while I still could. One of the few shaving items that I've bought strictly as a decoration. I wonder what it will be worth at my estate sale.

Why the freezer? I keep my AV stash in my closet.
I have read here that both light and heat are enemies of colognes and AS's. I figured what better place for long-term storage than a cold, dark place - and that's the coldest, darkest place I have around.
That, and I have no SWMBO to give me a reality check!I have stopped in to many of the drugstores that I have passed by in recent weeks (and that's a lot in this area (home to CVS)). Aside from a couple of finds everyone here now stocks the plastic bottles, as do Target and Wal mart). I picked up the three Ice Blues and two Musks in glass that I found. This morning I used Ice Blue for the very first time. Nice stuff, but I was expecting a little more freeze. I'll have to add some menthol crystals.

I was at Target this morn and remembered the thread. Never used AV as my father is an Old Spice man hence I am an Old Spice man. Checked the shaving aisle and all the AV bottles were plastic...but wait...why is there a bottle in the back of the shelf that is bigger than the other ones? Could it be?

I was at Target tonight and they had 1 glass bottle left which my good wife snagged for me before I even saw it.

Went to Target yesterday and snatched up the last glass bottle of AV.
