What's new

Just Ordered a Weber Polished

I just pulled the trigger on a Weber Polished head with the Bulldog handle. From what I understand, it's a milder shaver--which is what I'm after. My daily driver is a Progress set at 2. I also have a 34C which is about as aggressive as I like. Here's hoping the Weber fits the bill. I'm also looking forward to the grippy handle.
Let's hope it comes fast. :scooter:

Congrats, they look great and have been getting good writeups here. Curious how it will compare for you versus the 34C, which is my main go to DE razor. Good luck and post your impressions after using it!

I have the DLC and it's my go-to on days when I want a mild shave. It pairs wonderfully well with Feather blades. A Feather never felt so smooth!

I just got one last weekend for another member off of B/S/T. Great razor. The head reminds me quite a bit of the 34c and I would say that it's a similar shave in terms of aggressiveness. A very solid razor and well worth the price. A tremendous value IMO.

If Ed from Weber Razors can cast bottom plates and top caps from stainless steel, I'm sure Merkur could cast their heads in brass and then nickel or chrome plate them, but they still stick with that Zamach 3 crap that corroeds with time, especially when the plating flakes off or is breached. I think Merkur should get their act together and just cast the heads in brass. They make their handles out of brass, why not the whole razor? If it costs a bit more, just pass it on the the consumer. I'd gladly pay an extra $5-10 if they made their razors out of 100% brass.

I have progress, weber (original black head) and merkur 34C.
Of the 3, the merkur is the most aggressive. Weber comes in second. Progress at 2 comes in last.

YMMV -
progress at 2.5=weber
progress at 3~3.5=merkur

I got an email at 5:45 this morning saying that my razor has been shipped along with the tracking number. Wow, that's fast! :a50:

I have the Weber polished bulldog. I paired it with 7 O'clock black blade this morning. It is one smooth shaver. Just aggressive enough where a 2 pass wtg/atg gives me a DFS. Work it XTG and I get BBS. Love this razor. Looking to add the wave handle at some point.

Copper's expensive... and maybe the pot metal is easier to process. I don't really know, but a solid brass razor is certain to retail far in excess of $5.00 to $10.00 more than current prices.

Shaved with mine again this evening using the same Super Iridium blade on its second shave. Just like the first shave.... very nice. The Weber is "stealth like" with the SI blade. Again, like there's no blade in the razor almost. No weepers, nicks, irritation..... just a nice smooth shave. I'm excited for you Foyle..... I think you will love it. I highly recommend an SI or a Polsilver SI blade for your maiden shave.

I was contemplating putting off this morning's shave until it came, but I went ahead and shaved anyway. Now I'll have to wait until tomorrow to try it out. :a48:
