Just got a new brush and love it

I got one of the marble real horn brushes from Kimson. I only have shaved with it once, but I love it. It has a great feel to it and lathers well.

Here are a couple pictures next to me Penchetta with a 20 MM knot.

I'll post up some more once I use it longer.

I love the horn handle, I have been thinking about getting one but I haven't found one that I like and can afford.

I'm surprised that these brushes don't get more love here. I really like it, and its a great price for a genuine horn handle with a hand tied silvertip knot.

When did you order it and how long did it take to arrive?

I ordered a bone handle from him on May 2nd and have only had a few sporadic emails back from Vu Kimson even though I send weekly questions about the status. I really like the look of his brush, but don't think I will be ordering any more from him in the future providing I even get this handle due to the lack of communication.

It did take a while. I think I put in the order about a month ago. It shipped on Monday and amazingly I got it on Friday. I would definitely be worried if I had ordered it on May 2nd. Maybe thats why he doesn't get much love. He did answer my emails. Usually after about 3 days.

I order mine on the 10th of April and I got and email from him saying is been shipped on the 23rd of June (10 Weeks from order to shipping). I should get it this week hopefully.

I guess its one of those things you have to order and forget. Did you order just a handle or a complete brush? I ordered some extras. Not sure what I'm going to do with them.

I just ordered the handle out of bone. I think the problem with it was that I requested a smaller one to fit an 18 mm knot that I have here. I checked my status that said handicraft processing and should ship June 21. No email letting me know it shipped and no responses to my email inquiries with him.

I wouldn't mind the wait, if he would just promptly return my emails to let me know the status.

Edit to add. Just checked the trouble ticket system and saw that he made one and it cracked supposedly. It will be another 3 to 4 weeks. UGH.

I just check the handles which we just made it a few days ago. The bone is not stable and it was cracked. I need to make the new items with another bone.

I would like to postpone the order more 3-4 weeks. Do you agree with this?

I ordered a few extra complete brushes for friends and family to save on shipping.

And a couple horn combs for my wife, but he forgot to ship them. Hopefully I'll have them next week.

I do have to reiterate that I love the looks, feel, and performance of the brush so far.

Those horn handles he makes are beautiful. If I were getting one I would just get a handle and then have them ship it to Shavemac or Rudy Vey to have it knotted.
(simply because those are two vendors that I trust to make quality brushes, not saying anything against the Kim Son knots)
